Segments The company operates through Energy Markets and Integrated Gas segments. Energy Markets This segment engages in energy retailing and wholesaling, power generation and LPG operations primarily in Australia. This segment also includes the company’s investment in Octopus Energy Holdings Limited. This segment includes Australia’s major energy retail business by customer accounts, Australia’s major fleet of gas-fired peaking power stations supported by a substantial contracted fuel position, a growing supply of contracted renewable energy and Australia’s major power station, the black coal-fired Eraring Power Station. Integrated Gas This segment includes the company’s investment in Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG), growth assets business and management of LNG hedging and trading activities. The company has a 37.5 per cent shareholding in APLNG, an equity accounted incorporated joint venture. Integrated Gas – Other This segment includes the company’s Integrated Gas activities that are separate from APLNG, and includes unconventional exploration interests in the Beetaloo Basin, the southwest Queensland Cooper-Eromanga Basin and a potential conventional development resource in the offshore Browse Basin. It also includes overhead costs (net of recoveries) incurred as upstream operator and corporate service provider to APLNG, costs associated with growth initiatives, such as hydrogen and small scale LNG, and costs incurred in managing the company’s exposure to LNG pricing risk and impacts of LNG trading positions held by the company. Beetaloo Basin (Northern Territory) The company has a 77.5 per cent interest in three exploration permits approximately 18,500 km2 in the Beetaloo Basin. Kyalla Liquids-rich Gas Play: The Kyalla 117 well has been drilled to a total measured depth of 3,809 meters, which includes a 1,579 meter lateral section. Velkerri Liquids-rich Gas Play: Construction of the Velkerri 76 well lease pad was completed in early December 2019 and environmental approval to drill and fracture stimulate the Velkerri Flank well was granted in late December 2019. Cooper-Eromanga Basin (Queensland) The company entered into agreements with Bridgeport Energy to farm into a 75 per cent equity position and operatorship of five permits located in the Cooper-Eromanga Basin in southwest Queensland. The company was included on title in June 2020 and drilling of the first well (Stage 1A vertical) was due to commence in 2020. The staged farmin work program involves the drilling of approximately five exploration wells to be completed by the end of 2024 targeting both unconventional liquids and gas.
