Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) engages in the exploration and development of oil and gas resources, including production and sale of oil and gas and related activities in Pakistan. The company’s concessions portfolio, as of June 30, 2009, included 35 owned and operated Joint Venture (JV) exploration licenses covering an area of 68,310.92 square kilometers. In addition, it holds working interest in another 7 exploration licenses operated by other JV partners. The company has 44 development and production/mining leases which are operated by it besides working interest ownership in 15 non-operated leases. The company’s remaining recoverable reserves, as of June 30, 2009, was 145.427 million barrels of oil and 10,211.76 billion cubic feet of gas. Exploration and Development As of June 30, 2009, the company was operating in 35 exploration blocks (22 blocks with 100% share and 13 blocks as operated JVs), including 4 offshore blocks covering an area of 68,310.92 square kilometers. The company also works in old Development & Production Lease (D&PL) areas. History Oil and Gas Development Company Limited was founded in 1961. The company was formerly known as Oil & Gas Development Corporation and changed its name to Oil and Gas Development Company Limited in 1997.
