PAO NOVATEK, an independent oil and gas company, together with its subsidiaries, engages in the acquisition, exploration, development, production, and processing of natural gas and liquid hydrocarbons in the Russian Federation. It offers natural gas, gas condensate, crude oil, and related oil products. The company transports and markets natural gas through Unified Gas Supply System, an integrated gas transportation and supply shipping network to customers in the Russian Federation; and gas condensate through rail, and crude oil through a pipeline system to customers in the Russian Federation and internationally. The company also produces anti-corrosive insulating materials used on underground pipelines in the oil and gas industry. Its products include various types of polyethylene based insulating tapes, including polymer tapes and wraps, heat-shrinkable tapes, and sleeves to protect welded pipe joints; and film wraps for food, tobacco, perfume, pharmaceutical, and textile industries. In September 2007, the company acquired a 50% working interest in the Concession Agreement for Gas and Crude Oil Exploration and Exploitation in El Arish Offshore Area in the Arab Republic of Egypt. Reserves As of December 31, 2008, the company had proved reserves of 4.96 billion barrels of oil equivalent, including 690 billion cubic meters of natural gas. Significant Events: In February 2021, PAO NOVATEK signed a cooperation agreement with Baker Hughes Company to develop lower carbon hydrogen solution for liquefied natural gas trains. History The company was formerly known as OAO NOVATEK and changed its name to PAO NOVATEK in 2016. The company was founded in 1994.
