KGHM Polska Miedz S.A. engages in the mining of copper and non-ferrous metals ores; and the production of copper, precious and non-ferrous metals. The company has 10 divisions, such as 3 mines (Lubin Mine Division, Polkowice-Sieroszowice Mine Division, and Rudna Mine Division), 3 metallurgical plants (Glogów Smelter/Refinery, Legnica Smelter/Refinery, and Cedynia Wire Rod Division), the Concentrator Division, the Tailings Division, the Mine-Smelter Emergency Rescue Division, and the Data Center Division. The copper, silver, molybdenum, nickel and precious metals mines of the company are located in Poland, the U.S.A., Chile, and Canada. The key international asset – the Sierra Gorda mine, which is a joint venture between KGHM INTERNATIONAL LTD., Sumitomo Metal Mining, and the Sumitomo Corporation – is located in Chile. In addition, the company has mine projects, which are at the preproduction phase (Victoria, Sierra Gorda Oxide), as well as exploration projects. The company’s primary products are copper cathodes, copper wire rods, silver, copper concentrates, molybdenum concentrates, gold, oxygen free copper rods, round copper billets, and refined lead, as well as ore containing copper, nickel and total precious metals (precious metals – gold, platinum, palladium). History KGHM Polska Miedz S.A. was founded in 1961.
